Wesfarmers OneDigital - Diversity and inclusion

OneDigital is committed to creating a workplace that is inclusive and welcoming of everyone and everything that makes them unique, including faith, race, neurodiversity, ethnicity, gender, sexual identity and disability.

OneDigital’s diversity and inclusion pillars – Gender Balance, Cultural Engagement and Celebrate Difference – are supported by regular activities to create an inclusive environment where everyone is accepted, respected and valued for their personal contribution.

During the 2024 financial year, OneDigital continued its focus on team cultural awareness activities and gender balance for talent acquisition, performance and development processes. This included targeted efforts to increase female representation within leadership roles and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) roles.

Achievements in the 2024 financial year included:

  • Women represented 42 per cent of the total workforce across OneDigital, which remained consistent year-on-year.
  • Gender balance among leadership roles was a continued focus, working towards a target to achieve 40 per cent women, 40 per cent men and 20 per cent either gender or gender diverse in leadership roles by 2027. At the end of the 2024 financial year, women represented 26 per cent of leadership roles at Catch and 31 per cent of leadership roles at OnePass and OneData.
  • In March 2024, OneDigital hosted its annual International Women’s Day panel. The event attracted diverse cultural representation and seniority levels discussing and exploring bias, intersectionality and actions for change.
  • Successfully supported a senior female leader to apply for a Women in Retail scholarship to attend a leadership development program at Harvard Business School.
  • Supported female team members to represent OneDigital at public events, including International Women’s Day events with the Australian Retailers Association, Australian British Chamber of Commerce, and the Australian Retailers Association Leaders Forum.
  • A continued focus was placed on achieving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce population parity of three per cent by 2030 and establishing partnerships with Indigenous employment partners to drive engagement and representation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander suppliers.
  • Participation in Indigenous cultural awareness training increased for OneDigital team members through cultural events, including NAIDOC Week and National Reconciliation Week.
  • Championed the inclusion of culturally diverse team members by recognising culturally significant events such as Diwali, Eid and Lunar New Year. Throughout the year cultural events (along with safety information, upcoming events and staff recognition) featured on television screens at the Catch Moorebank and Truganina fulfilment centres. Team members also continued to be provided the flexibility to seek a substitute of up to three gazetted public holidays per year for an alternative day of paid leave for cultural, religious, or other personal reasons of significance.
  • Implemented inclusive recruitment, hiring and onboarding practices to attract and retain diverse talent. Actions included promoting community inclusion and welcome on internal messaging platform channels, the creation and management of intranet resources, and maintenance of multi-channel onboarding systems and processes.
  • Team members recognised Pride Month and celebrated Wear it Purple Day and International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. Support for LGBTQIA+ team members was provided through rainbow ally lanyards and use of pronouns in email signatures.
